I had an old Celeron 400 / 256MB RAM.
I formatted it, installed Windows XP and everything went fine. I was working with it the whole day without touching any settings, or anything else - just playing solitaire and then shut it down without anything strange happening. The next day I press the power button and before loading the windows, under the BIOS information, I noticed that it said "Celeron 600MHz" instead of 400MHz!!! and it would hang there, before loading the Win XP operation system.. I flashed the BIOS (pulled out the battery for 10 minutes) and restarted the PC. Immediately it showed the correct 400MHz and logged into Windows normally. I restarted the PC and again it showed 600MHz!!! What the heck is this?? What is changing the CPU speed information, and why?? How can I fix this??? |

Your not only a "Troll" But your mean. It's possible, but I've never heard of such a thing. that when WinXp boots, it's putting up the clock speed. I've never heard of such a thing really, but if it never did it with Win98 then the os is turning it up. Denny. :-) |
