Default Accomodation, Strahan - Tasmania

Hello,
does somebody know a good accomodation address
in Strahan Tasmania, not too expensive in the city centre
(hotel or B & B).

Thank you

Kees Neve, the Netherlands

Check out http://www.discovertasmania.com.au where you'll find a variety of
accommodation listings.
I think you'll find Strahan is something less than a city in size, it's a
popular little tourist town where you can take cruises on the Gordon River
and ride the re-instated Abt Railway to Queenstown.

Strahan Hilltop - Motel with prices around $100.00
Sailors Rest - Apartments prices around $140.00

See www.honatravel.com / Hotels

For something different what about a Yacht overnight B&B accommodation at
Strahan wharf $80.00 double

Was in Strahan last week. Make sure you have accommodation booked prior to
going to Strahan. No accommodation available when I arrived at noon. Had
to drive to Queenstown at 8.00pm after Gordon River cruise returned.

Very hard to get accommodation anywhere in Tasmania over the past couple of
weeks. The extra ferry from Sydney is really stretching the accommodation
seams. It will only get worse with the cheap airfares.

I was down there last July 03, and actually managed to bargain them down a
few bucks for a room for 2 nights for the 3 of us at the Strahan Hilltop.
The hotel was near empty. I wonder what it will be like this coming July.

Here's a pic I took of from the balcony of the Hilltop
