No mention that the lawyers cared about the pain and suffering of the
murdered child. http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline...a-execute.html Florida executes first inmate since botched lethal injection in '06 Florida has executed child rapist and killer Mark Dean Schwab, the state's first execution since they were halted after a botched lethal injection in late 2006. Schwab, 39, was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. ET. He was convicted of kidnapping, raping and slaying 11-year-old Junny Rio-Martinez in 1991. The U.S. Supreme Court rejected his appeal earlier today. Schwab's lawyers had argued that the state's revised lethal injection procedures still were likely to cause pain and suffering. |

If there's such a thing as inflicting pain and suffering upon the convicted, making them wait a decade and a half before executing him qualifies. We need to go back to the days when a small town tried and convicted criminals. When convicted, the next day, the convicted had a bag dropped over his face and a rope draped around his neck followed by a four or five foot drop. Care to solve our nations criminal problems? Instead of three strikes and you're out (life in prison), I prefer 5 years and you're dead. The moment any criminal serves 5 years in prison, the next day, execute; no appeals. ---- Posted via Pronews.com - Premium Corporate Usenet News Provider ---- http://www.pronews.com offers corporate packages that have access to 100,000+ newsgroups |

Today we have heard the voice of reason - I hereby nominate Mr. Wilhelm for president. Look how many lawyers will be flipping burgers and washing windshields once the 18 year appeal industry ceases to exist. |
