I don't think Nicaragua has GSM yet, I believe they are still TDMA.
However if you have a gateway phone (both TDMA & GSM) then you should be OK. HTH. "Alejandra van delft" <a.van.delft@sebastian.nl> wrote in message news:OZYwb.1245$LC2.3002@typhoon.bart.nl... > Can i use my European gsm in Nicaragua? > > |

In article <OZYwb.1245$LC2.3002@typhoon.bart.nl>, Alejandra van delft says...
> >Can i use my European gsm in Nicaragua? That depends on two things: 1. Is your phone a tri-band GSM? Nicaragua's two GSM carriers use 1900 Mhz, not found in Europe. 2. Does your provider have a roaming agreement with either of the companies in Nicaragua? They should be able to tell you. If they don't, and you have an unlocked tri-band, you could buy a pre-paid SIM card for local use. Keep in mind both systems there are rather young and coverage is pretty much limited to the western side of the country around Managua. |
