Hello! During the American Civil War
our country only had a population of 30 million (9 million in the south and 21 in the north), and it fielded an army of 3,264, 000 men (2,200,000 soldiers on the north and 1,064,000 in the south). The current population of Pakistan is approximately 178 million, and yet it is fielding a combat force of 15,000 mostly untrained young men against the Taliban ... in a battle the Pakistanis have deemed "for the salvation of the state." This obvious charade (it's almost next to impossible to find a Pakistani civilian who takes this offensive seriously) is either a fairytale concocted between the Pakistani government/military and the Taliban to separate American morons from their dollars, or this is truly a Bizarro World. Pakistan could easily field a half million men army and take back ALL territories held by every Taliban militant in Pakistan AND Afghanistan both. Why they won't is something (not the Pakistani government or military but) the American government ought to explain to the American tax-payer.
