Default Seeking Recommendations - Caribbean All-Inclusive Resorts

My wife and I are planning a tropical vacation for late March or early
April. We enjoy all-inclusive resorts to avoid the "cha-ching" sound as we
eat and drink to our hearts content.

We have vacationed before in St Thomas, Aruba and Riveria Maya. I was
thinking about Punta Cana for this years adventure. We stayed at the Riu
Palace in Riviera Maya a few years back and loved it, but I see mixed
reviews on the Riu Palace Punta Cana on Tripadvisor.com. Some friends of
mine swear by Iberostar, but their experience was in Mexico, not Punta Cana.

Any suggestions regarding your favorite Caribbean all-inclusive resort would
be greatly appreciated - either in Punta Cana or any other island.
Our priorities are: 1) Relaxation 2) Good food 3) Drinking - swim-up
bar/beach butler service 4) Snorkelling

Thanks,

Bob D.

Why not consider Costa Rica? I know it isn't an island (duh), but there are
some excellent all inclusives on the West Coast including a new
all-inclusive Hilton property and Melia Playa Conchal. Ever seen an active
volcano before?

St Lucia - Eastwinds (small; excellent food and wine)
Grenada - La Source - just re-opened I think; before hurricane damage it was
v. good; Le Sport in St Lucia would be similar.
St Lucia again - Anse Chastenet (of the ones I've mentioned this has the
best snorkelling but it is expensive; I think it does an AI option)
Anse Chastenet doesnt have a pool; Eastwinds doesnt have beach butler I dont
think, but has help yourself bar at the pool.
