We are planning a trip to Africa starting at Cape Town and travelling up to
Kenya on a safari style trip in August/September 2005. Any tips or advice is greatly accepted as we have not ventured overseas before and are very unsure on who to travel with. Thanks Adell |

I recommend your partner, your friends, people who you know you get on well with, strangers might work of course, but probably easiest to travel with someone you know you get on with. HTH Jim. |

Such trips are all about exploring, coping with the unknown and taking advantage of unexpected opportunities. Collective decision making in that context is a severe drag and can easily end up in frustration, and that's why I prefer to travel alone although I can tolerate the company of a friend very well. But every time there were more people we split so that everyone can have it his way, even though they were very nice people. But then maybe you like being in a large group. Just make sure you understand what it means. |

As I read it I think Adell is asking for advice from people who have travelled from Cape town to Kenya. She would probably like to know which travel companies gave good service. She needs to give some idea of budget, how long the safari will be for etc. so that people on the group can help. Pat. -- Pat Anderson |
